Steve Bialorucki
Swim America Program Director
Steve Bialorucki has spent more than four decades shaping swimmers, coaches, and aquatic programs at the highest levels of the sport. As Head Coach of Old Dominion Aquatic Club, Steve is recognized as one of the most accomplished and respected coaches in USA Swimming. An ASCA Level 5 Coach since 1990, his coaching career has included leadership positions with nationally prominent programs in Missouri, Ohio, Florida, and Virginia. Throughout his tenure, he has developed numerous Junior National, Senior National, and Olympic Trials qualifiers, coached athletes who achieved world rankings, and helped guide 1992 Olympic Gold Medalist Joey Hudepohl during his time with the Cincinnati Pepsi Marlins. His reputation for athlete development, program building, and competitive excellence has made him a sought-after leader within the swimming community.
Since joining Old Dominion Aquatic Club in 1994, Steve has transformed the organization into one of the most successful and respected swimming programs in the Mid-Atlantic region. Under his leadership, ODAC has produced Olympic Trials qualifiers across multiple Olympic cycles, countless Junior and Senior National qualifiers, USA Swimming All-Time Top 100 performers, and more than 100 Academic All-Americans. His influence extends far beyond the pool deck, as over 30 former ODAC athletes have gone on to become professional swim coaches themselves. Steve's commitment to excellence has helped establish a culture that emphasizes technical mastery, personal accountability, character development, and long-term athletic success. ODAC consistently ranks among the nation's top-performing clubs through USA Swimming's Virtual Club Championship program and has earned a reputation for developing swimmers who excel both in and out of the water.
In addition to his accomplishments in competitive swimming, Steve serves as the Franchise Owner and Program Director of Swim America Swim School Hampton Roads, where he continues his lifelong mission of teaching water safety and building a strong foundation for future swimmers. Having directed one of the country's earliest Swim America programs during his coaching career in Florida, Steve has long been an advocate for progressive, skill-based swim instruction that develops confidence, safety, and lifelong enjoyment of the water. Today, his Swim America program introduces hundreds of children to swimming each year while providing a direct pathway into competitive swimming. Whether working with a first-time swimmer or a national-level athlete, Steve's philosophy remains unchanged: create an environment where individuals can maximize their potential, embrace hard work, and pursue excellence in every aspect of their lives.
